Women in Nuclear Finland distributes information on energy matters, radiation and radioactivity to decision makers and other citizen groups, especially women. The information is distributed by organising seminars, giving lectures, producing information material, guiding visists to nuclear sites and also to some extent, by giving interviews in the media.

Women in Nuclear Finland has been established as a working group in Finnish Nuclear Society. It was founded in spring 1990 by seven active women working in the nuclear field, and used to be called The Energy Channel but later the name was changed to Women in Nuclear Finland due to the fact that it has always been part of the international Women in Nuclear association. The actions of the working group are organised and realised mainly by the active core, the co-ordination group.
