Call for Papers and Abstracts
The Finnish Nuclear Science and Technology Symposium invites researchers, authorities and all industry professionals to contribute their insights and findings through short papers and presentations that will shape the future of nuclear energy.
We are seeking high-quality short papers that delve into the technical aspects of nuclear power, including but not limited to nuclear beyond electricity, nuclear power plant analysis, materials, fuel and chemistry, nuclear and radioactive waste, and fusion technology. In addition to original research and case studies, summary or review contributions from already published work in relevant topics that contribute to the ongoing discourse in the field are encouraged.

In addition to short papers, we welcome presentations that provide a broader overview of relevant topics. These presentations should be accessible to a more diverse audience, while still maintaining a foundation in scientific rigor. Presenters are asked to provide a short abstract of their presentation through Conftool.
Important Dates:

- Notification to authors: June 16th, 2025
- Submission Deadline for Cateogry 2: Abstracts: August 31st, 2025
- Conference Dates: October 21-22, 2025
Categories
Category 1: short papers
This category allows presenting original and novel research work on technical and scientific topics from the last three years. Contribution involves a short, introductory paper (max 4 pages), not preventing a future peer-reviewed publication, and an oral or poster presentation at the conference. Also summary or review contributions from already published work in relevant topics are encouraged.
The papers are accepted based on a light peer-review process and published on-line.
Category 2: abstracts for presentations
This category holds less technical, more cross-cutting topics that still are highly relevant for the nuclear field and of interest for a wider audience. Contribution includes only an oral presentation at the conference and no paper. Selection of speakers is based on short abstracts (used for review only).
Submitting
Papers and abstracts are submitted online through the Conftool conference management software: https://www.conftool.org/syp2025. Detailed formatting guidelines are provided in the paper template. Please ensure that your submissions adhere to these guidelines to facilitate a smooth review process.
In addition to registering as an author/presenter in Conftool, you need to register as a conference participant separately!
We look forward to your contributions and to fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas that will advance the nuclear power industry. Join us in exploring the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in this critical field.
